DJI RC, RC 2

Feature availability

This article provides instructions for Direct DJI Sync, which is the process for uploading DJI Fly flight logs from the DJI RC/RC 2 to AirData.

Update June 2024 for United States users: Since DJI is shutting down the flight log sync in the US, please follow these instructions
instead: https://app.airdata.com/wiki/Help/DJI+RC%2C+RC+2%3A+Uploads+for+US+Users

As a general overview: When you complete a flight, the DJI Fly app generates a log and stores it on the DJI RC/RC 2. To upload the flight log to AirData, the log needs to first be synced with DJI's servers. AirData can then retrieve the log from DJI's servers.

Adding DJI credentials to AirData

  1. Click "My Account" to access your account settings:

  2. In the account settings, click the DJI Login:

  3. Click "Add a new DJI Login":

  4. Then, enter the DJI credentials that you currently use in DJI Fly:

Syncing your flights with DJI's servers

To sync your flights with DJI's servers, open DJI Fly and go to Profile -> Settings -> Sync Flight Data, and enable "Auto-sync Flight Records".

Leaving "Auto-sync Flight Records" enabled at all times is only recommended if your DJI RC/RC 2 is not connected to the internet during flights. The reason is due to a known  DJI Fly cropped flight issue.

If your DJI RC/RC 2 is connected to the internet during the flight(s), we recommend disabling "Auto-sync Flight Records" before you conduct flights, and enabling it when you are finished flying. This will ensure that flights are not cropped.

If your DJI RC/RC 2 is not connected to the internet while flying, you can leave "Auto-sync Flight Records" enabled permanently.

AirData - DJI sync frequency

Your DJI flights will automatically sync on your first login each day (to the web app or mobile app), as well as automatically once a week.

You can also click on "Sync" or "Sync All" on the DJI Login page to force a sync between AirData and DJI.

I had the same question, and there is indeed a way to manually upload the files. You have to connect the controller to your computer via USB and then browse to the folder where the logs are stored and copy them to the computer and then upload them manually to Airdata under the "My Logs ->upload" menu. There is a place to drag and drop the log files.

I tried this and had no success. At this time I have no use for healthy drones as I have not uploaded any data since Feburary. If I can't find a solution I will cancel my subscription.

Hi Heath,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble uploading flight logs to your AirData account.

We have detailed directions for manually uploading flight logs from the DJI RC and RC 2 controllers at the following link: app.airdata.com

Additionally, we have had customers report that some USB cables were not able to establish a connection, while others were able to consistently do so. It's not always clear which cables will be successful. This may be related to the quality or technical specifications of the cable, or the cable may simply be damaged.

If after review of the help article you are continuing to experience trouble uploading flight logs, could you please write in to our dedicated support team at support@airdata.com? We would be happy to further help troubleshoot why you have been unable to upload your flights. Please also include further information regarding what issues you are encountering when attempting to manually upload your flights.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,
Teresa
